Children's Ministry Volunteer Oppourtunities

We are working to find the best possible scenario for our children's ministry.  We recognize this as a vital part of our ministry as it is so important to have a fun and safe environment to show the children Christ's love while giving all the moms focused time to study God's Word.  We are currently in need of volunteers with a heart for teaching and serving children to help us in this area.  If the Lord has laid this type of ministry upon your heart, would you consider praying about helping us out?

Some ways you can volunteer include:
  • Curriculum coordinator (with a primary focus on preschool age) - There are many resources we will make available to you that have prepared curriculum, Bible lessons, and activities.  This volunteer would prepare the materials and class schedule each week to provide to our in-room volunteers.  Coordinating the curriculum does not necessarily mean you have to volunteer in the rooms each week, unless you are led to do so!
  • Permanent in-room volunteer - Per chapel policy, we are required to have at least 2 adults in each children's classroom, and we will be providing ministry to 3 age groups (infant to toddler, preschool, and homeschool).  This means we need a lot of help!  Ideally, we would like to have a consistent face serving our children each week.  This provides both comfort and structure.  It would be wonderful if we had 3 volunteers, one for each age, to be present in the rooms throughout the fall session, and they would be accompanied by weekly volunteers.
or
  • Rotating in-room volunteer - If no one is led to commit to the permanent positions above, we can have more ladies rotate as consistent teachers (e.g. 4 ladies each teaching once/month).  This way no one will have to miss out on the full session of study.  Again, we will also be needing weekly volunteers to accompany the recurring volunteer teachers.

Also, our chapel does have potential resources to offer a paid position for a PWOC/MOPS children's ministry coordinator.  If you, or someone you know, might be interested in pursuing this, please contact Lacey at misawapwocsl@gmail.com and she can get you in touch with a Chaplain!

Thank you in advance for your prayers and consideration!  Even if you are not led to one of these positions yourself, please know we will be needing weekly volunteers in order to provide this ministry, and would love to have you help in that way.  And as always, whether you are led to volunteer or not, we appreciate your prayers over this ministry and the children!
